      September 04, 2024

      Location: Chicago, IL

      Hospital: Rush University Medical Center

Department: North & Harlem Outpatient Center

      Work Type: Full Time

      General Neurology – Clinical Faculty

Rush North & Harlem Outpatient Center

      Chicago, IL

Rush University System for Health (RUSH), a national leader in outstanding patient care, education, research, community partnerships and empowering a new generation of health care providers, invites applications for the position of General Neurologist, at our new North & Harlem Outpatient Center in Chicago.

The Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center is growing and looking to add BC/BE academic and community Neurologists to North & Harlem Outpatient Center in Chicago. The Main Campus general neurology practice current team includes 10 academic clinical neurologists that have a variety of clinical and academic interests, each with extensive experience caring for patients with a wide range of neurological problems in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Candidates will have a faculty appointment and join the Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center. All opportunities will include outpatient and inpatient settings and a chance to see a wide variety of neurological diagnoses. Teaching and research opportunities are also available if desired by the candidate. Qualified candidates must be graduates from an ACGME-accredited neurology residency and must be board certified in neurology. Outstanding clinical skills are required. Candidates will have a faculty rank commensurate with experience. A competitive salary and benefits package are available.

There are wonderful opportunities to collaborate clinically with over 100 faculty spanning the neurologic subspecialties and to teach with over 40 residents and fellows in most clinical subspecialty areas. The department also boasts a strong research infrastructure allowing faculty to thrive in their research pursuits. Rush has made a commitment to significantly grow the already robust neuroscience program and footprint regionally and nationally, including with a new ambulatory building opened in 2023.

The new 60,000-square-foot RUSH outpatient center at North & Harlem avenues in Chicago, opened in July 2025, is part of RUSH’s commitment to delivering the best care available, close to home at locations across the Chicago area.

Rush North & Harlem will significantly expand access to RUSH primary and specialty care for northwest Chicago and suburban patients in near west communities like Oak Park, River Forest and Elmwood Park, by offering some of the most sought-after healthcare services — including nationally ranked specialties like neurology and cardiology. The new center is another example of how RUSH is working to deliver the best care and outcomes across the Chicago area and Northwest Indiana.
