      Summary:
      The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is responsible for assisting Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting. The Certified Medical Assistant assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow, the upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing. In addition, the Certified Medical Assistant will administer intramuscular injections, immunizations, small volume nebulizer treatment, over-the-counter medications under the direction of a Physician. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

      Other information:
      Required Job Qualifications:
      •High school diploma/GED required.
      •Clinical Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, AAH, or NHA required (includes principles and techniques of injections and medication administration) within six months of hire.
      •Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program required (unless hired prior to February 1, 2022).
      •Graduates of a Rush Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program are required to obtain Clinical Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, AAH, or NHA required within six months of hire.
      •Current CPR certification required upon start date.
      •Computer skills.
      •Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

      Preferred Job Qualifications:

      Responsibilities:
      • Coordinates and maintains organized patient flow.

      • Prepares and supports patient and assists provider with procedures.
      • Reviews appointment schedules and ensures all patient charts are available for the visit.

      • Cleans, prepares and stocks exam rooms, treatment rooms, and workstations.
      • Calls patients regarding test results and medical instruction under the direction of a Physician.
      • Calls in medication refills under the direction of a Physician or protocol.
      • Documents patient care information in the outpatient medical record according to standards.
      • Assists with scheduling of patient tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
      • Assists in the care, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment and instruments.
      • Maintains the inventory of medical and linen supplies.
      • Maintains quality control for equipment.
      • Provides cross coverage to other clinical areas as assigned.

Rush Hospitals are nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospitals for Rush Medical and Nursing colleges.

      Rush is currently recruiting for several Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) to join their team. The CRNA will function under the medical direction of the anesthesiologist with regard to pre-anesthetic, anesthetic and post-anesthetic patient management.

      Position Highlights:

      Flexible Schedule/Call:

      • Shifts available are 8’s and 10’s and your schedule can be tailored to your specific needs. This benefit is highly beneficial and unique, facilitating your lifestyle away from the operating room. Additionally, our CRNAs are relieved on-time for their slated shifts and not on a "waterfall tear-off" system
      • Call requirements are minimal, with no in-house call requirements. Additionally, you are paid to carry your pager whilst on-call, and you are paid a call-rate if you are called in. Call-ins occur about 10% of the time.
      • As a faculty member, the CRNA will clinically educate as a preceptor for SRNAs.

      SRNA Grant/Illinois Nurse Educator Loan Repayment Program:

      • Rush offers all SRNAs the SRNA Grant and Service Agreement. Up to one year before starting on with Rush as an CRNA, students are eligible for a grant to help pay for the cost of their education.
      • Illinois Nurse Educator Loan Repayment Program- $5,000 of loan forgiveness per year up to four years total.

      • $2,000 per year for continuing medical education is available for CRNAs, as well as $1,500 every three years for maintenance of licenses and certifications in addition to one workweek off per year for seminars/professional meetings. Rush also hosts weekly grand rounds that counts for one class "A" CEU-free. Additionally, every day precepting an SRNA counts as a class "B" credit.

      Position Responsibilities:

      • Provide anesthesia for a variety of cases in both an inpatient outpatient setting.
      • The CRNA will function as a faculty member and supervise SRNAs in the nurse anesthesia program.

      Position Qualifications Include:

      • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
      • Current IL RN/APN license.
      • CPR and ACLS.
