      Summary:
      The Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Oncology Nurse Navigator 2 is a registered nurse (RN) who works collaboratively with physician practices and multi-disciplinary teams as to promote the effective utilization of services and coordination of care for patients within the Section of Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy within the Cancer Center service line. The BMT Oncology Nurse Navigator 2 assesses patients' psychosocial, financial, and clinical needs throughout the continuum of care ensuring high quality care while supporting quality metrics of the BMT Program, Cancer Center, and Rush University Medical Center. The BMT Oncology Nurse Navigator 2 functions as a liaison between patients, physician practices, the hospital, and the community performing functions that meet the core competencies of oncology navigation; Care Coordination, Communication, Education, and Professional Role/Care as well as the domains of the Profession Practice Model; Relationships and Caring, Evidence Based Practice, Technical Expertise, Critical Thinking and Leadership. The focus of this position is coordination of patient care from the initial bone marrow transplant referral to the transplant. In this role, the RN interacts with patients, families, and a wide variety of personnel both within and outside the institution. The RN must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to take initiative, problem solve, and function collaboratively or autonomously when needed.       •Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required

      Technical Expertise1. Responds to patient questions and needs via various technology: “My Chart,” staff messages, telephone contact, etc.
      2.Coordinates/Schedules admissions, surgeries, laboratory testing, radiographic exam, and infusion for patients and donors.
      3.Evaluates pre-transplant testing for patients and donors, noting discrepancies between test results and stem cell transplant eligibility criteria. Addresses test results with physicians
      4.Performs related and unrelated donor search/evaluation.
      5.Interacts with National Marrow Donor Program to initiate donor searches, confirmatory typing, scheduling of donation etc.
      6.Completes necessary transplant forms to ensure compliance with National Marrow Donor Program.
      7.Provides continual communication with the Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Medical Director, Physicians, and Advance Practice Providers to ensure comprehensive management of patient care.
      8.Interacts with Reimbursement Specialists to ensure timely financial review and approval.

      10.Ensures compliance with the Foundation of Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT).

    Summary:
    The Medical Laboratory Scientist 1 is responsible for performing all assigned laboratory testing and reporting for the testing area. This position requires teamwork to achieve common goals and meet deadlines to provide quality care to clients and patients.     Other information:
    •Education: Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science, biological science, chemistry, or education/work experience meeting the qualifications of high complexity testing personnel as defined by CLIA 42 CFR 493 1489; no previous experience required.

    oMedical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) via the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
    oMedical Technologist (MT) via the American Medical Technologists (AMT)

    •Associate’s degree and/or education/work experience qualifications as defined by CLIA 42 CFT 493 148; and MLT or other laboratory certification; and 5 contiguous years of experience required. Some laboratory sections may have more stringent education and certification requirements.
    •Certification from a nationally recognized certifying agency is required. Some laboratory disciplines may require more stringent certification criteria.
    •Acceptable credentials (can vary depending on the laboratory section):
    •Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) via the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
    •Affective behavior: Interacts effectively and respectfully with everyone encountered at the medical center.

    Responsibilities:
    • Utilizes required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as defined by the lab area. Labels and processes specimens properly. Performs all laboratory procedures efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision once trained. All testing must be done following Rush approved Policies and Procedures.
    •Performs required quality control (QC) procedures and preventative maintenance, including corrective action and documentation, for all procedures and instrumentation. Recognizes QC problems or discrepancies and attempts to determine the cause of the problem. Notifies the appropriate supervisor or designee regarding QC problems or discrepancies according to the established procedure.
    •Performs basic troubleshooting of equipment and processes with minimal assistance, documents action, and notifies appropriate personnel, for example, supervisors, of problems all the time. Able to recognize when additional help is needed and seek out that help.
    •Keeps work area neat, clean, organized, and well-stocked at all times. Disinfect the area at the beginning and end of each shift.
    •Accepts no inappropriate specimens. Notifies the appropriate person of specimens that must be drawn or collected again and documents the notification
    •Meets turnaround time expectations by prioritizing and organizing the workload for the shift. Monitors the pending list periodically to ensure turnaround time of all samples.
    •Utilizes time effectively and seeks out additional job duties when shift tasks are complete. Completes work without incurring overtime. Assists fellow workers to finish shift tasks. Adheres to the defined allotted time for breaks and lunch.
    •Required to obtain and document 12 hours of laboratory continuing education per year.
    •Accepts and/or volunteers for method evaluations and new procedure development or other special projects and completes them within an agreed upon time frame. Participates in procedure implementation and training of new staff and students. Encouraged to identify and participate in process improvement projects.
    •May perform the duties of the tech-in-charge for specified periods. Oversees operations according to departmental guidelines. Understands when to defer issues to appropriate personnel, for example, a supervisor or director, and does so.
    •Reviews lab results as required and takes appropriate action before verification and release. Recognizes and calls critical results within defined time frames. Reviews paper-generated results and transcribes them accurately into the Lab Information.Additional Job Components

    Summary:
    The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Per Diem assists licensed pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy performing duties as assigned in fulfilling the needs of the Inpatient Pharmacy and the Medical Center. The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Per Diem will staff in areas requiring specialty training and technical skills, including sterile medication preparation. The Per Diem technician exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

    Required Job Qualifications:
    •High school graduate or equivalent.
    •Individual must have EXCPT and/or PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification or ability to achieve w/in 8 months of hire.

    •At least 2 years previous experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent health-care related practice
    •Ability to effectively follow directions, analyze problems and interpret analytical data.

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
    This is a per diem position with staffing contingent on the needs of the department. Days and hours of work are not guaranteed. Per diem individuals will be notified of shifts available for pickup by the pharmacy technician operations coordinator or leadership team. Per diem individuals must pick up at least 2 shifts each month to remain active per diem staff.

    Responsibilities:
    • Performs specialized Inpatient Pharmacy work in the organization Inpatient Pharmacy areas such as in the following areas: IV compounding, Chemotherapy, OR pharmacy or Pediatrics.
    • Maintain or establish fundamental knowledge and understanding in the following areas:
    a. Basic Pharmacy Knowledge:
    i. Recognizes and identifies various classifications of medications, medication names, dosage forms and routes of administration.
    ii. Ability to appropriately label all medication dosage forms including auxiliary labels for expiration and storage as required.
    iii. Responsible for the accurate interpretation of EPIC pharmacy labels:
    i. Interpretation and understanding of medical abbreviations.
    ii.Identification and differentiation of different types of medication orders (Scheduled, PRN, Once, STAT, NOW).
    iv. Performs pharmaceutical calculations accurately, including fundamental math calculations, metric conversions, and pharmaceutical dose calculations.
    b. Regulatory:
    i. Compliance with USP regulations related to compounding, repackaging, labeling and delivery of medications including but not limited to USP 795, 797 and 800.
    ii. Responsible for knowing the laws and regulations related to controlled substances.
    iii. Maintain competencies for all areas worked.
    i. Includes initial competency and annual competency requirements.
    c. Technology
    i. Ability to utilize technology in the pharmacy including, but not limited to BD Logistics, medication carousels, EPIC, RxVerify and temperature reports as needed for assigned duties.
    ii.Ability to troubleshoot Pyxis equipment (i.e.: failed drawers, inventory, outdates, opening service tickets).
    iii. Facilitate optimal performance of pharmacy equipment, including, opening service tickets, troubleshooting, triaging issues or escalating concerns to pharmacy leadership team.
    d. Policies and Procedures
    i. Act in accordance with published policy and procedure documents.
    ii. Reference policy and procedure documents as needed.
    e. Workflows
    i. Ability to complete responsibilities as stated on task list.
    ii. Ability to differentiate and prioritize patient and Pyxis specific medication refills.
    iii. Executing accurate and timely delivery of medications according to priority.
    iv. Maintain inventory appropriately.
    i. Frequent stock rotation.
    ii. Maintain temperature specific medication storage.
    iii.Maintain PAR levels in central and satellite pharmacy locations.
    iv. Perform outdates and inventory counts as appropriate.
    v. Training new employees as needed.

    Summary:
    The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting. The Medical Assistant assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow, the upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing. In addition, the Certified Medical Assistant will administer intramuscular injections, immunizations, small volume nebulizer treatment, over-the-counter medications under the direction of a Physician.
